Issue 28 of Assaracus: A Journal of Gay and Queer Poetry gathers a fierce group of poets whose work moves across memory, desire, and the strange and unrelenting beauty of queer survival. Issue 28 features a substantial portfolio of poetry by Sean Bugg, Sossity Chiricuzio, Acie Clark, William Leo Coakley, John Compton, Ezra Fox, Luther "Lue" Hughes, Sean Patrick Mulroy, and Mark Ward, as well as an essay from Sara Youngblood Gregory and a new poem from editor Bryan Borland. Guest curator Jeff Walt also brings together his "Desert Rats," poets connected to the Desert Rat Residency in Palm Desert, California: Stephen S. Mills, Abby E. Murray, C. Dale Young, S. A. Borland, Michael Montlack, Kelli R. Agodon, José E. Medina, Steven Cordova, Jeannine H. Gailey, and Ed Madden.
Like walking down every aisle at a queer flea market, we promise you're going to find something you love, something you remember, and maybe even something a little weird. Assaracus 28 celebrates the ongoing vitality of queer poetry and is proudly published by Sibling Rivalry Press.
